A new dream…
In the beginning there was “Cutting Edge Lawn Service.” This was Matt Gordon’s first business. He groomed and as it grew over the years, but Matt wasn’t totally “sold” on the idea of being the owner/operator of a lawn care service. He sold this business and began driving trucks – big, 18-wheelers across the United States. But, trucking wasn’t Matt’s dream either … after a few years, he went back to his first passion – gardens and landscaping along with lawn maintenance.
In 2016 Gordon’s Property Maintenance was born and Matt once again began taking care of lawns in and around his home neighborhood. The customer base continued to grow, and many of these loyal and satisfied clients wanted “more.” They asked for help with their gardens, drainage, sod, landscape lighting, trimming and pruning … this need spurred Matt to earn a Louisiana Horticulture License and allowed him to offer even higher levels of service and care to those exiting – and the many new ones to come – customers. Since 2023, we are a Louisiana Licensed Irrigation Contractor – we inspect, repair and install sprinkler systems for residential and commercial clients.
Matt has a knack for seeing the best qualities in a person. This gift helped him assemble a team of specialized, qualified, skilled and talented co-workers.
Where we are … and where we’re going… 
Today, Gordon’s Lawn and Landscaping is able to provide landscape design and installation; irrigation; drainage solutions; hardscaping and pavers; landscape lighting; grading/fill/sod; pergolas; synthetic turf – we are the ONLY authorized installer of NexGen Lawns Synthetic Turf in Southeast Louisiana!
Matt and his team have not forgotten their roots, and can be seen participating in his home church’s annual Crawfish Boil Competition as well as supporting local businesses and schools.
Gordon’s Landscape Supply
2023 also marked the introduction of Gordon’s Landscape Supply – a physical and on-line store (420 Hollandey St. in Kenner, LA) where you can select and purchase landscaping plants, soil, mulch and limestone/rocks. Of course, we continue to offer and provide design and installation expertise for your yard and garden projects. Your ideas and concepts are important to us. We will work with you to create your custom space.
After your initial consultation we will prepare an estimate and plan for your new space. Once it is accepted, we will add you to our calendar and set a start date for your project.
